We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Uncle David came back into town and we had a great weekend spending time with him. We went to Oklahoma for Christmas at Thanksgiving with the Foster family. I was really nice to talk to spend time with the family. Now it's back to real life tomorrow. We are so sad..we kind of like being home!!!

What a whirlwind two weeks. Let me try to catch you up!! Van went to his 5 year pediatrician appointment. They did several screening on him including a vision and hearing test. His hearing is perfect but his vision was a little off. They weren't sure about the results so they wanted to retest him in two weeks. He also got blood drawn to redo his allergy test. Two weeks later, he went back for his vision retest and to get the news of his allergy test. His allergy test results are awesome!! He is NO LONGER allergic to eggs or milk!!! PRAISE GOD!! He is still allergic to some minor things like timothy grass, mold, dog danger...but all of those are controllable!! After the retest of his vision screening, they wanted him to see an eye doctor just to check that everything was ok. He went today to the eye doctor and the doctor said he is perfect for now. Of course, vision can always change as they grow older and he will have to continue yearly checks.
Max is doing fine. He is struggling with allergies and seasonal asthma, but otherwise healthy. He has really started talking more and really started telling us what he thinks and wants. Before, he would just roll with the punches...now,he lets us know what HE wants!! What do kids have to get opinions!!?!?!?
We will be going to Great-Grandma Foster's for Thanksgiving next weekend. They are so excited. Uncle David comes is two days and they can't wait to see him!! Van keeps talking about playing "Go Fish" with Uncle David and how he is going to "beat the pants off him."Comments:Uncle David: Go fish challenge accepted :)Add a comment:

Van received a gift card from Aunt Atley for his birthday. It was burning a hole in his pocket and he decided that he NEEDED to go to Wal-Mart to spend it. So off we went. He knew exactly what he wanted..he saw the commercial and everything. He wanted color changing Hot Wheels. So he gets what he wants and he is so excited to pay with his "credit card." After he hands the cashier his card, she scans it, and throws it in the trash. He was devistated!! He could not understand why she didn't give his credit card back...we get our credit card back when we pay...it wasn't fair!! We had to discuss that his card was a gift card and that after the money on it is gone, the card is no good anymore. We also had to discuss the Mommy and Papi go to work everyday so that we will get more money on our cards, too. Then he asked how he will get more money on his card. To make a long story short, Van now has chores around the house that he will earn money on Fridays to put onto his "credit card." He has to pick up the toys around the house, take out the trash, and set and clear the table. Pretty reasonable chores for a 5 year old. He loves the "chore" thing. He must ask 5 times a day if the trash needs to be taken out!! If only his excitement will stay forever...I doubt it...but I can dream!!
Comments:Uncle Nathan: I have several of the color changing Hot Wheels, they are VERY cool.Add a comment:

I normally would say..."We had soooo much fun on Halloween"...but this year was soooo weird!! Let me tell you about Halloween..... The boys have been so excited about Halloween and going trick or treating. All day long they asked, "Is it time to get dressed for Halloween?" After dinner, I started getting the boys dressed. Van was ready and excited. Max...not so much!! He cried and I ended up making him put his costume on. I put Max in the stroller and off we went to the first house (the next door neighbor that they LOVE). Van ran all the way there, but Max would have nothing to do with getting out of the stroller. After several houses, I just stopped asking if he wanted to get out and go trick or treating. 30 minutes into the adventure...Max throws up on himself. I felt HORRIBLE!! I MADE him get dressed; I MADE him get into the stroller; I MADE him go trick or treating!!! I'm a horrible mother!!! Thankfully, Atley and Ray were there with Dylan and they took Van trick or treating and Max and I went home. By the time we got home, he had thrown up on himself two more times. By the time I got him in bed, he threw up four more times!!! I felt HORRIBLE...and I still do!!! Today he feels MUCH better. He is running around this afternoon and eating a little bit. Poor thing missed all the fun of Halloween!! Well...the good news is that it is not the flu, it's not swine flu....and Halloween will come around again next year!!
Comments:Aunt Martha: What a horrible mother NOT!!...if you never talk about this again he will NEVER remember it happened. You have pictures that he went and that is all he need ever know. Next year he will be more verbal and will tell you if he feels bad.Add a comment:
